I'm an Information Processing Consultant in the Department of Surgery at the University of Wisconsin (Madison). I have worked in this department for 20 years, inititally as an Assistant Researcher. I have a B.S. from Indiana Wesleyan University (1984) and an M.S. from Iowa State University (1986).
The Vreugdenhil name is Dutch. My grandfather immigrated as a young boy to the US in the early 1900's with his family. I was born in the Philippines in 1961 and was raised in Sierra Leone (1965-1976).
My hobbies include photography, Sierra Leone stamp collecting and computers. My photographic interests involve landscape photography and classic Leica cameras, lenses and accessories. Because of my interest in Leica cameras I am a member of the Leica Historical Society of America.
I got my first internet connection and started using a browser program called Mosaic in late 1993 (before Netscape or IE). My website was up soon after that in early 1994 (As http://sapphire.surgery.wisc.edu/). I started originally with a 486/33 PC running WinHttpd server software. ![]()
