I'm a Computer Consultant. I work in the Department of Surgery at the University of Wisconsin (Madison). I have worked in this department since early 1987, inititally as an Assistant Researcher. I have a B.S. from Indiana Wesleyan University (1984) and an M.S. from Iowa State University (1986).

I'm a Vreugdenhil. The Vreugdenhil name is Dutch. My grandfather immigrated as a young boy to the US in the early 1900's with his family.

I'm a camera and photography buff. My photographic interests involve landscape photography and classic Leica cameras, lenses and accessories. I am a member of the Leica Historical Society of America and I subscribe to Leica Fotografie. I am currently using a Leica D-Lux 4 for most of my photography.

I'm a fan of Sierra Leone. I grew up in Sierra Leone between 1965 and 1976. I follow Sierra Leone news and I collect Sierra Leone stamps. I was able to go back to visit in 1994 (see my photo gallery).

I got my first internet connection and started using a browser program called Mosaic in late 1993 (before Netscape or IE). My website was up soon after that in early 1994 (As http://sapphire.surgery.wisc.edu/). I started originally with a 486/33 PC running WinHttpd server software.
